Historique :	Dès 1843, Jammot a fixé la composition d'ensemble. L'exécution est menée rapidement entre août 1845 et mai 1846, date de la visite du père Lacordane (?). Bénédiction le 30 août 1846. Jammot retouche la fresque à la cire en août 1881. Adossée contre un local humide, l'ouvrage se déteriorait déjà. Nouvelle réfection en 1922 par Tony Follet. Une copie de l'oeuvre sur toile est marouflée sur l'original, puis décollée et transportée au réfectoire. C'est la première grande oeuvre murale de Jammot. On y reconnait tout le milieu 'pensant' lyonnais du moment : Blanc Saint-Bonnet (saint Jude), Victor de Laprade (saint Thomas), Paul de la Perrière (le Christ et saint Philippe), le docteur Paul Breux (saint Jacques le Majeur), le docteur Lacour, ainsi que Jammot lui-même, Léonard Jammot (saint Pierre et saint Jacques le Mineur), Sainte Marie Boulanger, élève de Jammot (Saint Jean), le peintre Lacuria, le docteur Aldag, parrain de Jammot etc.
